This year's ceremony will be held on Nov. 30 at the Hong
Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre. It was held in Singapore last
year.
Among the performers will be Super Junior and Psy.
According to Mnet, the nominees in 20 categories were
based on songs or albums released between Oct. 24, 2011 to Oct. 23, 2012
in Korea.
The preliminaries were conducted through the evaluation of
judges and other music affiliates using data from album sales and song
rankings from music sites.
The final judging will be "based on viewer votes
(Internet, mobile), expert panel evaluations, expert research of
preference, album sales, digital combined charts (song sales), and
evaluation by the selection committee."
A grand prize will be awarded based on these categories, Mnet said.
The music awards started in 1999 with the Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF).
